Then load bearing roof beams fixed to the trusses are extended in the same way. Ladder trusses are made up using four noggins bridging at each corner to support a rafter outside the building. Use larger rake boards such as 1 by 4 inch and 1 by 6 inch when there isn t an eave overhang on the gable end.
